Motivate Me! quote 9/17/21

“Not having time or energy for weight loss makes no sense. Does it take more time or energy to eat fish than prime rib? No.”
Martha Beck.

Connie says, “Martha Beck wrote one of the best books I’ve ever read about weight loss. It’s called The Beck Diet Solution. I hope you read it. People use the “excuse” that they don’t have “time” to meal prep or eat healthy. Know what? It takes less time and costs less money to open a container of Greek yogurt than to order off the dollar menu at McDonalds. It takes less time and costs less to have a few hard boiled eggs (prepared at the beginning of the week) than it does to grab donuts at the convenience store. Choices, my friends.”

Motivate Me! quote 9/3/21

"To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong." –Anonymous.

Connie says, “There’s a lot of growth that comes when we become mature enough to admit when we’re wrong. Refusing to admit being wrong is rooted in fear… of addressing your feelings of inadequacy, fear, shame or other uncomfortable feeling. Being wrong is part of being human. Get over yourself and realize being wrong is simply an opportunity to learn and grow!”

Motivate Me! quote 8/20/21

"If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got." –Anonymous.

Connie says, “This is a no-brainer. If you’ve lost weight before but gained it all back, (maybe ‘plus more’) then know if you have bariatric surgery or lose a lot weight in any way, you have to continue to do what you have been doing to lose the weight if you want to keep it off! Yep – we are once again back to the Gotta Do ‘Ems. Are you doin’ ‘em?"

Motivate Me! quote 8/2/21

Our food should be our medicine and our medicine should be our food.” ~Hippocrates. Connie says,

“It shocks me when I read and hear and see what the majority of people eat… and think of as food! So many people have quit eating real FOOD! Food that comes from the earth and the trees and the vines and the bushes and sea and the farm. Stuff that comes in boxes with powders and pouches are filled with so many chemicals. If we value our lives, we need to value our bodies by putting real food into it at least more often than we put chemically-infused chips, cookies, boxed meals, and everything in the candy isle. Not to mention the chemicals in some of the drinks we consume… Do you truly value your life?”

MotivateMe! quote 2/10/21

“Fat is not a moral problem. It’s an oral problem.” ~Jane Thomas Noland

Connie says, "Well… there is definitely an oral component of obesity and the disease is absolutely not a moral thing in any way, shape or form! Obesity is an incredibly complicated disease that involves a lot of body chemistry, genetics, cultural and societal aspects, and so much more. Many of these things we have very little influence over. Let's put forth a lot of effort into influencing the things that lead to weight gain: food choices, when we eat, how much we eat, exercising, and getting support!
