MotivateMe! Quote 2/11/20

“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.” ~Jim Rohn.

Connie says, "I know from personal experience, when I try to change people or things I have no control over, I end up very frustrated. When I work to change myself in positive ways, whether it's my attitude, my behavior, my thoughts, my level of effort, I get to take credit for what I've done. If I choose NOT to change something that would lead me closer to my goals, I have only myself to blame. That's true for all of us!" What positive change will you make right this minute?”

MotivateMe! Quote 1/21/20

“For every reason it’s NOT possible, there are hundreds of people who have faced the same circumstances and succeeded.” – Jack Canfield.

Connie says, "Aha! So it can be done! And YOU can be the person to accomplish your goals… if you are willing to do the work it takes to get there. C'mon. We'll work together as a BariAftercare group and help each other succeed."

MotivateMe! Quote 1/14/20

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” ~Walt Disney.

Connie says, "Thank you, wise Walt! I forever remind people that talking about, hoping for, or wishing something will NOT get you there! DO-ing is what creates change. If you SAY you want to lose weight, quit smoking, start taking classes or any other thing, then you'd better DO the things it takes to get the results. End of that story."

MotivateMe! Quote 1/7/20

“Progress is impossible without change and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” ~George Bernard Shaw.

Connie says, "Making changes in our schedules, daily routines, and eating habits, communication skills and so many things are difficult. But changing our minds?! Now we're talking SUPER DIFFICULT! We want to believe we know what's best. We fiercely protect our attitudes and our beliefs. We say absurd things like, 'Well, I was hit with a belt and I turned out fine,' and 'No one in their right mind could ever believe what those right- or left-winged people say.' Here's the reality. We all have a lot to learn and being able to take in new information and assimilate into what you already know may actually change your mind about some things! THAT is what healthy, adult people do... they are willing to learn and grow AND change their minds!"
